Nothing gets by Gabbie

Gabbie seems to have reached the age where I can't lie to her anymore about things. For instance we were sitting here a couple of minutes ago eating pull and peel twizzlers. We each had an entire rope. I had put the package up high on our dresser so she couldn't see them and wouldn't ask for another one. Well after she ate hers she asked for another one and I told her they were all gone because we ate them all. So she got off of my lap, went in to our bedroom, came back out to me and said "I show you mama come here". She grabbed my hand and took me in to our room and showed me the candy standing far enough back to see on her tippy toes. Nice huh? So, I broke it in half for us and she proceeded to attempt to sword fight with it.

We decorated for Christmas last night. It is amazing to me that an entire year has gone by already since last Christmas. Gabbie was so cute with the tree and ornaments. Grandma came up and brought Gabbie a Tinkerbell ornament which is perfect since Gabbie is in love with the movie and everything Tinkerbell. In our house Annie and Tinkerbell rule!

Eating cheetos before decorating. This child LOVES cheetos!

Being a little stinker

Putting an ornament on the tree. I have all of my old ornaments from when I was a child. It is funny because Gabbie likes some of the characters now, like the care bears and disney princesses.

Such a big girl!!!
Now the fun begins, trying to keep her from constantly touching the decorations!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today was a great day. We started with breakfast at Steve's parent's house, played some w i i (thank goodness no one took pictures because I am pretty sure I made some crazy faces), came home and napped. After our naps we went to Grandma's house for dinner and after dinner played some competitive Family Feud which I was on the winning team!

At the end of a busy and fun filled day I am feeling rather grateful. I have had a rough past few days and was slightly down going in to today but tonight I am focusing on the positive. I have a wonderful family, an incredible mom, a roof over my head, a full belly, a great husband, an amazing daughter, Gabbie's birthmother and foster mother, a good job for now (I work for that insurance company on the news all of the time), a car, another car in the shop with thousands of dollars of repairs needed and an extended warranty that should cover it but the company is trying to screw us over (oh wait that is not good), clothes, clean water, heat, medicine, love and so much more. I am truly one blessed person. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Gabbie and Uncle Steve - They had fun playing tonight!

My big girl - she is growing so much but....

Still has that sweet baby face

Gabbie and Uncle Steve again or as I have her saying Uncle Stevie- it is so cute when her little voice says that!

Cousin Joe and Gabbie - Joe was an A+++ cousin tonight. Gabbie put these beads on him and took them off over and over again! She made him stay in a back room and watch Dora, Diego, and Wonder Pets. He didn't complain one bit. She had so much fun with Joe or Joey as she calls him. It was too cute.

Uncle Steve had to do this over and over again!

Cousin Joe and Gabbie doing piggy back rides. He ran through Grandma's house 20 times with her on his back. She is sure crazy about him. I think he is pretty crazy about her too!

Thanksgiving Part 1

The new antibiotic for Gabbie's ear infection (see previous post) is giving her stomach problems so tomorrow I have to call the doctor for a different one. Even with the stomach problems Gabbie was in a great mood all weekend. She was nearly a perfect angel except for a few moments last night before dinner. Today was a total lazy day. We watched Tinkerbell and Annie, all took naps, and didn't get out of our pj's until late afternoon. Somehow I am still tired though!

Last night we did Thanksgiving at Steve's parent's house. The food was delicious! Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite meal of the entire year and I don't even eat the turkey!!! Gabbie had a blast last night playing with Peyton and her toys.

I cannot believe the holiday season is here! I cannot wait to put up the Christmas tree on Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

Gabbie and Buddy - Gabbie loves dogs and she spent 50% of her time last night chasing poor Buddy around.

Gabbie having a fit over something

My mom and I spent 50% of the night laughing at Steve and Uncle Pat playing Wii. They are like kids!

Boo hoo tubes again:(

Gabbie is sick again. Steve took her to the doctor again and it appears she has yet another ear infection, which makes 2 in 3 weeks. She got tubes in August 2007 but one is already out and apparently that is a problem. Also the pediatrician recommended we get that bump under her eye removed as it tends to flare up and her inner eyelid gets really red. Good news is her 2 doctors have coordinated surgeries together so we should be able to get these both done at the same time. So Monday I call the ENT and we go from there.

This past Wednesday night we had Gabbie's parent teacher conferences. I had no clue we would have these at just 2 years of age but we did. They went well. We found out she is leading the class in potty training so that is good. Her teacher said she is far ahead. We plan on trying out underwear around Christmas time when we are home with her for a straight week. That should be fun!

This picture is from Monday morning. I showed Gabbie her hat and gloves for school and she was so excited to show daddy but he had already left for work. I told her we could take a picture instead and she smiled really big.

Jack's Birthday Party

What a day is all I can say. Gabbie started off at 5:00am. The last 3 days she has woke up at 5:00am so we are not exactly well rested. She took a 10 minute nap in the car around 10:45 and apparently that was enough for her. We tried again for another nap at 1pm but let's just say that didn't go well:( For now I will leave it at that as this is a messy story which I won't post for public viewing.

After the fiasco we headed to Jack's party at 2:45. Gabbie had a blast of course playing with the kids and toys.

After this crazy day we are staying inside tomorrow. I am hoping and praying Gabbie sleeps past 5:00am. She actually fell asleep on the way home from Jack's party so we had to keep her awake by driving with the inside light on and E L M O music blaring. We got home, ate dinner, and Gabbie was fast asleep within a couple of minutes of putting her down.
Now for pictures.

The birthday boy!

Gabbie and Jordyn

As always obsessed with Jordyn!

Gabbie really liked this easel. Lucky for her I hear she is getting one for Christmas.

Jenn had this birthday cake made for me! Thank you Jenn!!!!

My sweet baby girl.

Jack's poor cheeks have to hurt from blowing so hard to get the candles out. He did it though!!!

Baby Jack is 2!!

Tonight we went to Baby Jack's house to celebrate his birthday! I can't believe he is now 2. Gabbie had an absolute blast. I am pretty sure she didn't want to leave. The kids were so cute playing together and sharing toys. I hope to have pictures soon (hint hint Jenn) as I forgot my camera.

As always Gabbie was obsessed with Baby Jordyn. She even sang a couple of Annie songs to her (Gabbie is obsessed with the movie Annie). She sang Tomorrow and Dumb Dog. Her singing to Jordyn was quite cute if I may say so myself!

Saturday is Jack's actual party and we can't wait.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!!!!

Gosh I love this baby girl!

Another weekend has come to an end. I am amazed at how fast it was. Gabbie was really terrific this weekend! The hitting is so much better. She seems to finally be adjusting to the time change - hope I didn't jinx it by saying that!!! Last week she was waking up between 4-5:15. We have been putting her to bed this weekend at 7:45ish and both days she has slept until at least 6:00. I feel so well rested!

We had a great weekend. I got to go to lunch with my mom for my birthday which is Wednesday. Mom and I then went to the toy store and I scored an incredible deal on a dollhouse I wanted for Gabbie for Christmas. It was $150 and I got it for $105!!!! Tonight we went to dinner for my birthday with Steve's parents at one of my favorite local restaurants. I am stuffed but it was so delicious. It was a great weekend.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is in less than 3 weeks and then Christmas is around the corner! I can't wait! Mom and I were just talking about how we used to dread the holidays since my father passed 10 years ago but now that Gabbie is home they have a whole new meaning! We are both excited! I love it!

Now for pictures. Tonight Gabbie was hiding from daddy and he asked -where's my baby. She said promptly - right here. Then he asked her over and over again teasing her and she shouted - I'm right here. We laughed so hard. She is growing up so much.

Her hiding spot!

Before dinner

My sweet girl.

She was running from me here and laughing so hard.
